Episode Overview

On this episode of the Sexology Podcast I talk about how I changed my personal negative schema around sex. I decided to do this episode due to an email I received from someone who grew up in a very sex negative culture and was curious about overcoming childhood messaging, programming and beliefs.

I grew up in Iran and was born right after the Iranian Revolution. I didn’t receive any education about sex from my family. Although, I was an avid reader. I read about all different books with sexual context.

No one told me my thoughts were natural. I grew up with this huge conflict in me, thinking that something was wrong with me because I had sexual desire and wanted to have sex. Then I moved to the US alone in a new environment and started a new life.

I was trying not to show no vulnerability and I had shame and guilt around my sexual desire. When I started truly expressing myself things changed. Learn more about my personal story and how to overcome negative sexual beliefs during this episode.
