THE IMPACT OF EATING DISORDERS ON SEXUAL FUNCTIONING

Eating disorders have a negative impact on an individual’s sexual health. Symptoms can include lack of vaginal lubrication and low libido. Studies have shown that most women with low libido had a normal libido before they developed an eating disorder, implying that these eating disorders may cause the decrease in sex drive. While most people with an eating disorder give reports of low sex drive, the condition is most prevalent in women suffering from anorexia nervosa. Please listen to this episode to learn more.
